Balance

A trip to the grocery store. First, I have to begin by saying that I woke up early on Saturday, went to the gym, ran four miles on the treadmill (a slow four miles, but still, four miles), did weights, and then had Bright Lights chard for lunch.

After such a healthy morning, I knew I had to put the world back into balance somehow, so I had a couple of very stiff martinis that night:

Aaaaaah.

  1. I had one martini. Once at a brother-in-law's retirement party. It was a "dirty" martini. I did not like. Is there a "clean" martini that is more palatable?

  2. I think a dirty martini has the brine from a jar of olives added to it, which doesn't sound appealing to me (I've never tried one). I barely like olives, and I certainly don't want to drink the brine.

A regular gin martini takes a little getting used to, but eventually most people find them crisp and refreshing - unless you have too many! Gin smells like Christmas trees. But almost everyone likes gin and tonic, a drink that is instantly delicious, even to people who rarely drink.

    My two cents, anyway.
