Azaleas and lilacs

Farewell, forsythia blossoms. Your golden days are gone, and you will modestly add to the greenery around us for the remainder of the spring and summer, then blaze out with those yellow splashes again next spring.

Now it's time for the azaleas to dazzle us with their pyrotechnics.

Really, sometimes the azaleas seem to be trying almost too hard.

Also time for lilacs - lovely, lovely lilacs.
