Summertime, and the living is easy

Tim put together our new grill, and we lit the charcoal enthusiastically.

I soaked mesquite chips in white wine, for the smokebox.

The kebabs tasted great.

And we even had a visit from the ice cream truck (didn't purchase anything, but I like to see and hear the trucks).

So hush, little baby, don't you cry.

  1. You have the best life! What does your ice cream truck play? There are two that troll my neighborhood. "Music Box Dancer" is the Mexican vendor. Early in the morning and much more thorough. The theme from "The Sting" is the other truck. Drives much faster and only after school hours. I'm beginning to think of them, and the crazy telephone lady who speaks in the vowel-less language, as day time lullabyes!

  2. I know it's not the theme from The Sting, but I don't remember what it is - have to pay attention next time. Incidentally, the movie Comfort and Joy is about ice cream truck wars in Scotland and is very good.

I have been trying to reply to your comment for more than a week now - for some reason Blogger won't let me comment on my own blog!! Maybe this time it will go through (I'm on a different computer.)
